Heritage of Peachtree Featured in The Citizen
Special thanks to The Citizen for featuring the National Guard visit to Heritage of Peachtree on April 29.
“By Ben Nelms:
Part of Georgia’s sanitation efforts at long-term care facilities included a stop at Heritage of Peachtree in Peachtree City on April 29 by members of the Georgia National Guard. The visit was precautionary, as Heritage of Peachtree has no positive Covid-19 cases.
The Alpha 2-121 IN. 48th IBTC of the Ga. National Guard on April 29 provided sanitation and disinfection services to Heritage of Peachtree, a Solvere Living senior living community.
“These young men did an exceptional job,” said Wanda K. Khayat, General Manager of Heritage of Peachtree. “Although Heritage of Peachtree does not have any positive Covid-19 cases, the personal care community wanted to take additional precautionary measures to help ensure residents and team members are safe.”
Gov Brian Kemp and Ga. National Guard Adjutant Gen. Tom Carden deployed the guardsmen at the beginning of April as part of the state’s infection control efforts to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in assisted living and other senior living communities.
While Heritage of Peachtree continues to strictly adhere to CDC guidelines, the community continues to offer social connection options for both the residents and team members, said Khayat.
Khayat said residents stay in touch with family members and friends using video platforms like FaceTime and Skype. Physical distancing support is also made available to team members, in the form of an on-site Relaxation Station and virtual support groups.
“Ours is a warm, welcoming and family-oriented community with a great tradition of service,” said Khayat, who has served in her capacity as general manager for 20 of the facility’s 24 years. “I’m proud to help provide residents with a supportive environment that includes the best in personalized health and wellness, no matter how unusual the circumstances.”
